The term "Integrative Medicine or Health" is used in many different ways. Here at Celtic Clan Health, we invision an integrative practice as one that factors in all aspects of a persons being. We use a variety of traditional and ancient healing practices to complement traditional evidence based western medicine. In addition to these applications a key factor is the client lead health journey. We are here to work as a collaborative team in making the best choices for your healthcare.

A Physician Associate PA-C (formally called Physician Assistant) is a highly skilled and specialized level of medical training. PA-C are board certified by the NCCPA quailified to examine, diagnose, and treat patients in all areas of medicine. In Washington State PA-C's work with a MD or DO in a collaborative roll. 

Here at Celtic Clan Health your will see Provider Ms. Catherine Jakeman PA-C, LMT. 

Ms. Jakeman has 20 years of experience in holistic health care as a Licensed Massage Therapist LMT and 7 years of practice in evidence based medicine as a PA-C. She specialized in the areas of family medicine/urgent care. Prior to graduating from University of Washington School of Medicine MEDEX, Ms. Jakeman also had 8 years experience working in Emergency Medical Services as an EMT-Paramedic and volunteer fire service. Ms. Jakeman works in collaboration, remotely, with a board certified Emergency Medicine Surgeon to consult on any cases in which additional support may be needed. 

In addition Ms. Jakeman has developed a network of local colleagues and specialists with whom she frequently collaborates and consults on a variety of cases.

All patient/client PHI (protected health information) remains confidential and is not shared with outside providers without the expressed consent of each patient/client.

All medical assessments, treatment, and diagnosis are done with confidence and within the scope of practice established by the Washington Medical Commission and  State Department of Health.

We do accept HSA/FSA cards for payment.

Celtic Clan Health is not currently contracted with any insurance companies. However the services you receive may be covered under your "out of network" rate of coverage. And or it may be something that can be applied to your annual deductible.  We are able to provide each client with a "Super Bill"  which is the necessary receipt that you can then submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please consult with your insurance carrier to determine what if any reimbursement is available under your individual plan. 

Payment is due at the time of service.

At Celtic Clan Health our model of care is intended to integrate with your PCP and outside specialists and to act as a liaison to facilitating gaps in care. Given the current wait times in accessing a primary care provider in Tacoma and the South Sound region, our clinic is able to help temporarily fill that gap until a primary care provider is obtained. The intention is to support you during the time you may be between providers and then offer continued support in a holistic journey. We are not set up to become a full time primary care clinic at this time. 

We do offer Massage and bodywork services to infants children of all ages with the accompaniment of a parent or guardian.

Quick Care Medical appointments are available for children 2 years of age and older. 

We offer sports physicals for schools and club sports. A parent or legal guardian is required to be at the appointment. For our teens patients we do honnor rights to privacy in accordance with Washington State law and parents or guardians may be asked to step out of an appointment when appropriate to discuss protected medical information. 

At Celtic Clan Health we know how pain, especially chronic pain can affect quality of life. We use an integrative approach to pain control and management. However, we do not prescribe controlled or narcotic medications. We work in collaboration with outside pain management clinics for referrals if additional interventions or medication are needed. 

Ms. Jakeman is licensed in the State of Washington. Therefore all telemedicine visits must originate in that state. Out of State clients are still able to access our health care academy and other resources along with Group Education classes and support groups. However, medical assessment, diagnosis and treatment can only be accessed within the State of Washington.
